The collection contains photographs made by Albert B. Kinne depicting the gold-mining towns of Council City, Candle, Deering and other areas on the Seward Peninsula of Alaska during the early years of the 20th century. Included are photographs documenting the activities of the Council Volunteer Fire Department, the DeSoto Mining Company and the Wild Goose Mining and Trading Company.
